Thought I would try something a little lighter or something that might put a smile on your face or someone else's. No Drama..just good feelings We all have something. You know that smell of something, a certain object or someplace that makes you all warm and fuzzy? Makes you smile the minute something triggers it. Might even make your hair stand on ends. The kind that might make your eyes all watery? The one you go back to when you want that warm fuzzy feeling? One that will make you laugh out at the most unfavorable times? One of mine is an Apron. Whenever I see one it always bring back memories of when Grandma was in the kitchen making something good to eat. It sparks other memories as well like old family get togethers, someone bending over wiping the tears of a child and somehow the touch of that apron would make life all better. Not to forget the many things that it could hold. Like old clothes pins which in itself brings back memories of freshly washed air dried sheets. Even the occassional dried up switch off the switch tree..as tramatic as that one was it was always better to just "get it" with that one instead having to go "pick one that better not break". Or it might be a an old bait bucket, a certain car or even a place. Care to share?

Those are awesome memories! I remember the corner store and for me it was the Bazooka Bubble Gum.. We also had Lilacs and Paeony's for the teachers... My great grandmother would crochet for hours and I still have some of her afghans... I remember as a teen having to bring hot water to the barn and inevitably it would fall off the sled...arggg...lol It seems that no matter what part of the country we live in are childhood seems to be very similar that's very cool Thanks for the memories...CS

The fragrance of lilacs brings back childhood memories of the huge lilac bush in the middle of our yard. I'd pick a bunch of lilacs and bring them to school for my 5th grade teacher. When I see a bottle of orange crush, it reminds me of the little candy store on the corner. On a hot summer day my dad would give us a dollar and ask my sister and I to get a carton of pop. We would choose the Crush flavors of cherry, orange, creme soda, strawberry and grape. What warm, delightful memories and the simplest of times.

The family sick blanket. Its a soft white afgan that gets pulled out of the closet when you are sick. DAM, now Robin knows I got it.

Hey for me it's the barn. Nothing is better than the comfort given by a warm furry horse or pony. A long ride makes big problems smaller and more in perspective. ..wHAT a great blog topic... : ..Still do my laundry on the line..
