Quoting: Originally posted by TeachOnWheels Manny you are also right. For me, it was getting the fishing pole that I can use with him at our river property. I'm not an "old married fart" yet, but soon and it's the little things that make him romantic. He calls, emails, or talks to ME everyday. He is open and honest with me. He loves my mom, my cats, and my crazy ways. That all said, DT, if I weren't already with the greatest man in the world, I would be headed your way after that story you wrote. You get it. Maybe you should give lessons. James contact DT and listen, he is a wise man.

Romance is to See, to Be Seen?it is the Art of Looking made tangible. Romance occurs when one lover identifies something the other wants and needs without asking then delivers without ceremony or expectation, when one lover delights in the ease, contentment, comfort and happiness of the other for the sake of the other. The same acts of anticipating and providing for the needs/wants of a lover are not romantic if they are performed with expectation of reward. When an exchange of some sort is part of the motivation, those acts become manipulative instead of romantic. As Maneater says it: ?romantic...is being able to get up and go pee in the middle of the night and find the toilet seat lid down!??..what a grand gesture and a fine surprise, every bit as romantic as receiving an unexpected but perfect gift or a spontaneous foot rub after a long day (assuming, of course, that the seat was left down deliberately). Bottom line: Romance is Other-centered, not Self-centered.

It's a look, a touch, a smile! Knowing that you are the only one that your partner gets a woody for. Ooops did I say that out loud....! LOL It's knowing that your partner gets you, it's different for everyone.

Something simple that shows his heart in it. It can be just the small sweet wee touches that show you that he knows where your heart is. That majic moment when in a look or in a jesture you know you are one. Things that can make for that intimate time when you connect. Not too much fanfare and dramatics. I like spontaniety and unique imagination. But not too much wind up. A boyfriend nearly got killed after I went round his house on my birthday expecting, and being led to expect something. But nothing. he played cool all night. Even said it was silly having birthdays at my age. After 4 hours of nothing I walkd out and decided to go home get changed and go out on the town on my own. I got back and my door was festooned with prezzies flowers and a ticket to a special event. But 4 hours of wind up and taken it out of me. i phoned him, thanked him then wenty out with the girls and he did not have any birthday icing for a few weeks. Wind up OK - but not too much. Can back fire. 20-30 minutes of wind-up is OK then give her the prezzie. Otherwise no fucky tonite. JunieXXX

Romance is making the other person your with, feel special at that given time and moment. To peer into the eyes of they one your with and fill them with the warmth of your adoration and attention. Candles, jacuzzi tub, being alone with no distractions but eachother...

Quoting: Originally posted by TeachOnWheels Ok, DT, I couldn't resist. Justaname has it perfectly.

Boy are you Right, Teach!!! I wouldn't try to compete with that!! But - now I'm gonna meld the two subjects in both my posts so far - - - - I turn the key and the big Cat rumbles to life . . . My Lady and I pull the rig into a small Nat'l Forest Campground at about the 8,000 foot level. . . We unhitch the Jeep, and back Hatari into the spot reserved for her . . . do the things that transfer the rig from a bus into a cabin in the woods . . . Go down to the creek and build a little dam . . . build a fire in the pit . . . bathe naked in the creek . . . wrap up in big beach towells and warm up by the fire . . . wash off the smoke-smell and warm up more in the shower . . . warm up even more in the shower, and then we share the gifts we have gotten each other over the last few weeks and days . . . some simple things, a big Tulip, a Tee-Shirt big enough for her to wear as an evening gown . . . other things I won't mention here . . . put on a CD that we both like . . . when the three days we have reserved is over we will look at each other, smile, laugh, be sad because this tiny slice of our lives is over . . . as we rumble back to our regular lives we will look forward to the Next Time - whatever the next time brings. And yes, because this is a motorcycle site - in other times of the year a Harley will replace the Jeep. DT

Deep subject.... Romance is interpetted by everyone differantly..... while some women feel flowers and dinner with soft music is romantic....others may feel that a nice long ride on the bike with an ice chest packed with a meal for two in some secluded spot is romantic... But as for what I think....hell I am an old married fart now.....romantic...is being able to get up and go pee in the middle of the night and find the toilet seat lid down! romantic is being able to pick what you want to watch on TV... romantic is knowing that no matter how much I have had to drink....my snores are sexier than his!!
