Is there one thing you just could not do without? Well I always thought I served folks meals, cleaned their homes, took care of those that just for one reason or another just could not do it themselves anymore. I cared for them in their last few days on earth and made them as comfortable as possible, and I feel I was very good at that. What I find I am no good at is asking my friends and family for help when I can not do things. We all have our weaknesses and this is mine. To those of your that are unaware I was hit by a lady using an entrance ramp to the freeway as an exit ramp....and I am alive! But I am very roughed up. My husband tries to come home at least 3 times a week to replentish opened water bottles in the frig and frozen dinners that do not take the hulk to open. I have a long road to recovery but I will ride again...maybe next summer. My bike looks just about as bad as me, but hopfully they can put ole' Casper back together again. The doctors are working on me. Way too many of my friends have had to see me naked...god bless my friend that traveled 1200 miles to spend 5 precious days helping me he and I have been friends since we were kids. He said, you took care of my wife when she and I had a wreck and saved us tons of money we would have had to pay nurses for wound care. I know God does things for a reason so I am working on the asking for help thing...just hope no one else has this problem. So what can't you do with out? I guess mine is friends you don't have to ask their just there for ya like friends should be. Nancy

Quoting habchick: Oh Nancy, you are one strong woman! Please, please tell me that the woman who hit you stopped, genuinely cared that she had hurt you and was charged up the ying yang... Get better soon!

Well she stopped did not come near me...got a ticket and is fighting saying it was not her fault her insurrance has not even looked at my bike no one gave the hospital her insurrance info I was a no insurrance coverage at that point they took a few x-rays made me walk to billing and the walk out of the hospital....her insurrance company is progressive to those of you that have them an think it's good coverage think again she got a ticket and they are fighting it I had to get a lawyer....not happy times in our campground but we will make it. A few of the folks I work with are doing a benifit for me, thank goodness I have a few real biker co-workers....Don't know what I'd do with out it right now, I will know more Friday when I see the orthapedic doc...but looks like this is not going to be a fast healing. Darn it anyway! I wanted to go deer hunting this year I just got enough strength to pick up my 357 I think I could pull the trigger if I had too. But each day brings a few less pains and a little more sunshine!

Quoting evenevo: OHHHH!!Shit, totally see where youre coming from. Im one of those that have trouble asking for help. Sorry to hear about your crash. Some people just come in and do the stuff you cant but mayby thats because they have been there too!Even just to have someone there is a comfort, while youre nodding off all the time!!LOL.I hate to ask for help but have had to learn when I came outa hospital. You even learn to work the remote with ya toes on one foot, and then someone comes along and moves it while youve nodded off..LOL.Its amazing how much youre poor bod can take! You just wanna sleep and get plenty of it so youre bod can repair and you can get back on that scoot and ride again.Hope you get better each day and dont go insane from boredom! Sending you get well thoughts and wishes!! less...

Yes it is a comfort to have someone there to watch you nod off, problem is I don't nod off. I am here most of the time by myself friends stop in at times to do things like dress me, open water bottles (I drink a lot of water), and prepare food for me. And I am so thankful. So of my co-workers are doing a denifit for me on November 9th, I hope I can go to that. I hear the insurrance is finally going to go look at my bike (almost a month later). So if my bike gets fixed then maybe I can mend and we'll get things rolling down the road again soon. Work says I have to be 100% and the doc says that will take time, I hate that there is so much I could do there; maybe not 10-12 hrs a day yet but i could do somethings. I think I will go bonkers looking at these 4 walls, I can not wait until I can dress myself and drive a car! Those are my short term goals. Here's to better days and some sleep!

Why does God get blamed for everything. Its not always him and you do seem to be going through the rough from one thing to another. Had an old fella at Quakers fall off his bike and damage and chin and hands and knees. Nice bloody job. Patched him up and checked on him this week. He also thought God was trying to show him or punish him for something. Yea!! God really is the type of guy to push 80 yr olds off bicycles. Real nice God we're following. Sounds like a real bastard. Hope you guys get better but don't accept anything. Pray like hard (Psalm 91 protective prayer, clean your hearts everyday and stop blaming God you make him sound like a right bstd. "Nothing bad comes from God. In God there is no wrong" It was an accident and it Tough Shit. That's it. God - what a bstd. Who would like to live with him? Not me. The way he is portrayed makes the other guy look good. JunieXXX

Demo, thank you for the well wishes...Oh how I understand the McGyver thing just going to the bathroom takes some major act of congress, I have broken ribs, fractures, sprains in places I did not know you could sprain...and pain pills just do not work. I am going to an orthapedic surgeon this Friday maybe he can do something to relieve some of the pain...I just want to sleep.
