Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by this summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.95 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..Not the Sellers! With the price of gasoline going up more each day, WE, THE CONSUMERS, MUST TAKE ACTION! The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the PLAN: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. And under no circumstances buy from CITCO. (CITGO is owned by Hugo Chavez, the dictator of Venezuela, and an enemy of US) If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... And those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all! Please, do it now!!! (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, I am a mathematician. So trust me on this one. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK. We may have to hit SHELL & BP too! But lets send a message to Mobil/Exxon First! Remember, they are the ones that brag about their $40,000,000,000.00 PROFIT LAST YEAR. Friends, That's FORTY BILLION OF OUR AMERICAN DOLLARS! It's TRUE, One of the American Dreams is to have a profitable business. However, Energy is the blood of the American economy. For this company to destroy our economy and Put the hardship on it's fellow Citizens is just UN-AMERICAN and pure simple ! GREED! This is totally Unacceptable! Keep This Going! PLEASE! SEND THIS TO 10 OF YOUR FRIENDS NOW!

Quoting: Originally posted by talldon Supply and demand: Gasoline prices always increase during the summer months. Unfortunately prices will probably not drop at the end of this summer. China is requiring more oil and willing to pay more to OPEC. How are they able to pay more? Manufacturing cheap S_ _ T and shipping it to the USA and really not buying anything from us. Thank Bill and Hillary for that mess.

well if what you say is true, and thats what there telling us, look at my newest blog. seems china is paying a lot less then us. there reasons for making the gas high is all bull. they find an excuse to explane why there raising it. bottom line is its about milking us dry. nothing will work short of just not using any.

Over $4.19 a gallon over the holiday weekend in MI. It's nothing more than a scam by the gas companies to put more money in their bloody coffers.

Gas here is from $3.83-$4.17. It costs about $70.00 now to fill my tank. And at 2x a week to get to and from work it's a killer. I get my gas at Shell. Always cheaper than the rest. It would be a wonderful thing if we all could take a stand and stop purchasing gas from the places mentioned in the article. Sadly enough,as Manny says, that just ain't gonna happen. Not to mention that most gasoline credit cards are associated with Exxon and Mobile. I sure am glad I pay cash. I don't even want to imagine what the grand totals on those credit cards must be.

Of course there is another option....drill for more oil. Oh wait, while congress is spending time asking oil companies why the price is so high, congress is limiting where they can drill oil. They cant drill off the coast of Florida because that could hurt tourism. They cant drill in many places for environmental reasons. Sure, we need to find better, cleaner energy, but it will take a while. Drilling for more oil could reduce our dependence on foreign oil in the relatively near future. I still see the whole concept of electric cars as a joke, because much of electricity is made from coal fired power plants. Creating ethanol from corn has changed the prices worldwide for foods. Funny, it costs more to make a gallon of ethanol from corn than it does to produce a gallon of gas. It is only worthwhile to some companies becuase Uncle Sam is subsidizing the costs. Not only is there no easy answer, the solutions we are trying are affecting other markets.

I am with you on this one. Sold my truck year ago and got me a economy car and walk more often, good for the health anyway. I am saving about 20% of gas consumption since last year. We all should do our part.
