Nurse Ratched - The matron of the BK blogs. Nurse Ratched, the antagonist, is a middle-aged former army nurse. She rules her blogs with an iron hand and masks her humanity and femininity behind a stiff, patronizing facade. She selects her staff for their submissiveness and intellectual weakness, and she weakens her adversaries through a psychologically manipulative program designed to destroy their self-esteem. Nurse Ratched's emasculating, mechanical ways slowly drain all traces of humanity from her adversaries. Watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest the other night. Somehow Nurse Ratched made me think of the BK blogs! Take care ... Phil McMurphy

Its also better to have character and be known as a character than to have none. Which OFOTCN character do you think Phil takes after. Or should we leave that as a guess of ythe imagination? Junie

My Mother In Law (God rest her soul)baby sat for Jack. He hails from Neptune NJ. She was also very dear friends with his Sister, and ued to play bingo with her a few times a week. I met Jack several times at an Italian restaurant in Neptune,NJ named Mom's Kitchen years ago. It was his favorite place to eat. He is quite a character! Oh,and OFOTCN is one of my all time favorite movies. A movie I could watch over and over again and never get weary of it. The book is an awesome read as well.

I'm afraid I at times played an Oscar performance of Nurse Scratchet to get some order and discipline on my forensic ward. But I played the same role in the manager's office trying to get some basic priviledges and humanity in the place. How to get a 7' Chronic Schizophrenic not to rip you apart with a large kitchen knife he has nicked and is two inshes of stinky breath away from you. Scare the living shit out of him by sheer bluff. God that film was near the truth but undertand the absolute unfeeling discipline in those places. Who is your normination for the No1 anally retentive sexually repressed psychiatrist with acute touches of Aspergers and the touch of Dr Mengels. My one is Dr Birkett. Local sociopath wide boy - Mick Larora. Junie

V Good film. Afraid the psychi services are little better. Still petty and disabling and demeaning with know all know nothing book reading professionals analysing and dysecting people's lives. Have also seen an inadequate male psychiatrist prorscribe ECT to masculnie men with wayward lives as a way of power and belittling them. Many come in as a patients with a little problem in their lives and end up and feeble fuck wits. The only guy I emasculated was a senior psychiatrist consultant who had a problem with women but had a thing for big busts. Between me and the amply bustiered Senior Social Worker he was jelly in weeks and salivated to our every whim. We just put him in a titty sandwich with us either side leaning in as we listened to his every word over the patient's folder. PATHETIC!!

There were blogs back when "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was made? No shit? I'm not sure how any man could be emascualted by words on a screen. Actualy, I'm not quite sure what you were referring to in this post. (I don't keep up allah time, so please 'scuse!) Shoot, friend, self-esteem isn't found in the on-line forum, nor can it be destroyed in it.

Based on the 1962 novel by Ken Kesey, Milos Forman's 1975 film stars Jack Nicholson as R.P. McMurphy, an erratic and violent, but fully functioning, sociopath who is transferred from a prison work detail to the Oregon State Mental Hospital for evaluation of his behavioral health. In the ward, McMurphy's confidence and charisma immediately enchant his timid and unstable fellow patients. Touche'
