Help Korean bikers. Posted on Jun 13, 2010 at 11:35 PM
I'll appreciate for any kind of bike pictures on the highway with name of country and few answers about below questions. I need to collect motorcycle photos on the highway for solid proof as much as I can get. South Korea is one of three countries in the world that prohibits any type of motorcycles on the highway. Until 1972, motorcycles had been ridden on any roads in the country. The totalitarian government at that time run by military criminals who took over the power 10 years ago made motorcycle prohibition law on high ways. In fact, there are about two million motorcyclists who ride for living or transportation or recreation. The government has completely ignored motorcyclists' right, even implemented systematic discrimination against motorcyclists. Due to these horrible circumstances, many innocent, especially young bikers become seriously injured or dead on traffic accidents. Question 1. How do you think if motorcycle is not allowed on the highway (express way) only because the authority believe in motorcycle is unsafe? Question 2. Insurance companies do not provide full coverage - Fire and Theft protection - for motorcycle owners because "it's motorcycle." Do you think it's acceptable? Question 3. The government agencies let people operate motorcycles without license nor insurance.
Sausage party, Cocktail party? Posted on May 12, 2008 at 04:25 PM
When I told them I was going to a biker meeting at a small city - 2 hours of riding distance. Two coworkers asked me "Do you go to 'Sausage' party?" Or "Do you go to the Cocktail party?" I asked them "What is that?" I did not know the symbolic meaning of it. Few minutes later, I found the meaning. 'It represents the thing.' LOL I laughed at myself. The sausage party place was empty when I got there on last Saturday afternoon. I was too late. There would be few good-looking female bikers from Calgary.
Stupid cagers. Posted on May 12, 2008 at 04:07 PM
Be a human not an animal. I had a quiet surprising moment in the morning while I was going to work. I was on the slow lane, a big SUV suddenly moved into the lane. I did evasive maneuver to avoid the contact. I got so used to these kinds of animal-like cagers. So many cagers do not have any respect others on the public road. Pathetic. No brain.
Bike is an expensive toy? Posted on May 03, 2008 at 04:27 AM
A dealer charges $100 for regular oil change. Between $300 to $400 for replacing a rear tire. Both tires would be over $500. These two are basic prep for the riding season. Now I understand why so many bikers sell their bike when they needs financial security or have a girlfriend or get married.
Being a machine. Posted on Apr 28, 2008 at 04:28 AM
I rode yesterday to go to a grocery store and post office. I had two massive rear wheel fish tail - one at the post office parking lot right after the departure, one on the road. Dirty surfaces. Anyway whenever I counted tricky moment while riding a bike, the heart beat used to increase, palm got sweating a little bit few years ago. Maybe I got so used to these stuff so it becomes normal. "Resistance is futile."
Is it worth to be a paid member? Posted on Apr 26, 2008 at 07:10 PM
I do have unfriendly experiences for past 6 months as a paid member on different dating web site. I could send messages but it turned out hitting the all myself. Maybe I miss basic skills of convincing girls. Anyway it was plus 10 afternoon with sunshine. I rode in the city about 1 hour - visiting a friend's place had chit chat half hour, went to a ethnic grocery store to buy a pack of rice. A young male clerk asked me "How much your bike?" I lost words for few second. 'what?' I replied "It's expensive." People are strange. The warm air and sun make me have big smiles with no reason.
Please remove the nudity on the menu. Posted on Apr 24, 2008 at 08:05 PM
What's that female nude figure right beside of 'Menu? Wow, it turns me on. By the way, "Profane, vulgar or porn messages" will be removed. Nonsense.
Dear NightNurse. Posted on Apr 08, 2008 at 10:04 PM
Ah~ I'm back to ride again. I have a friend like you who is older than me, intelligent, and a remarkable lady. I met her in a motorcycle school years ago. She is one of my best friends. What she make me scare is that she always say "You'll get all things you ever wanted, just be patient." Maybe I wish too much at the moment. The time will come. Have good one, Hughe
What is ahead of me? Posted on Mar 09, 2008 at 09:58 PM
It's pretty pathetic that I've been single most of life. Ah~ What a life. It makes me wonder how could I keep myself in sanity. Lucky that I had met few genuine people who taught and touched my heart through their deed without words. Some people are straight in and out, they keep their promise no matter how hard it is. I believe in that's make us as human. Infantry soldier - I did not choose but had to finish the duty. Computer programmer for 5 years Forest firefighter for 4 years Automotive technician for 3 years including 2 years of schooling. I'll go back to the home country soon. Plan to be a farmer for the summer in home town. Run a repair shop off-season through winter. I'll fix youngsters' bicycles without charge as future investment. LOL. A child has open-mind, hardly afraid of being failed. A child cries for the moment, then the child start do it again and again. That's why any children has great potential for future. A little penguin chick has a dream "I'll catch a big fish someday!"
Spring is coming. But, little excitement. Posted on Feb 22, 2008 at 11:52 PM
Have learned that riding a bike on public roads gets harder and harder every year both streets and multi-lane highways. Signs, stupid drivers, traffic cops, speed traps, hidden photo radars. What will be next brilliant invention to protect the safety of general public from the potential(?) law breakers? I might spend more time practicing piano in my cozy room than riding for the coming summer. Here I find endless freedom of expression any how.
Take a good look at yourself. Posted on Feb 11, 2008 at 11:39 PM
Take a good look at yourself. All truths are within you. To look for truth outside yourself is to search for water outside of the ocean. by Master Seongcheol (1912-1993) -- I've met genuine people, some of them became friends. Few of them would be long-lasting friends. The problem one of them is missing parts that I expect to be the real friend. I became to think "Am I be a perfect friend to them?" Woops!! I keep trying and I will do to be their friend. "The butterfly effect" is mind bugging concept in Chaos theory. A flap of a butterfly wings could cause a storm. Let's take a good look at ourselves before we blame against others. To change the hectic world, one should change oneself first to better being. Nowadays, so many people prefer to be animal of desires. This simple view explains their behaviors. I never thought about playing piano. Well, it has passed two months already since started learning piano. I like it. It's handy, fun, less limitation of weather or traffic cops. Also, it's very cheap! Isolation can easily destroy most human beings. That's why there are huge drug addicts, the number increases. Some folks call even "Drug epidemic" Why? more and more individuals are connected by various devices: TV, Radio, cell phones, Internet, now wireless internet. At any moment one can connect to another, then how they feel lonely, turn into drug? The loneliness surrounded by millions is worst nightmare than being alone on a remote island. Systemic failure. I say. The education and religion turn the innocent child into a grown-up slave who has multiple layers over oneself without knowing true identity. The poor soul keeps asking "Who am I?", "What's inside of me?" Then, "Who is this?" or "Who is it?" Watching thousands of movies Listening tons of musics Reading hundreds of books Would help? Until one look at oneself with true eyes, all those actions lead to one or another illusion. Take a good look at oneself. But, how? Have a solitary moment once a day. Just let the mind flow while closing the eyes. It's good idea to visit meditation center or place near you for getting help of being alone. One day an enlightenment will strike you. The one of moments of truth which lead to true oneself eventually as times go by. Then, "who is it?" or "Who am I?" become minor. Just a big smile, "Why should I bother? Now I have things to do for joy."
I'm back but for what? Posted on Jan 22, 2008 at 12:40 AM
I'll have found out sooner or later. Keep asking me signing a gold membership which is not gonna happen. Living in a winter country sucks. One day I'm going to live in a sunny country where beautiful, hot sunny days continues over 3 months. Love to ride along the beach. The open space, hot sun and wind, vibrant people. Snow is dirty in a city. Grey color everywhere. Few days ago, I was test driving a car on the road. For a short moment, an image popped up in the head, one nice day I'm riding R1 facing breeze. A butterfly in a dream was flying between flowers. Because it loves the beauties.
These online dating site stuff. Posted on Jul 29, 2007 at 07:31 PM
It hasn't worked out for me. I'm a private person - work 8 hours, sleep 8 hours, after work I do own stuff to keep myself busy all the time. I don't go to bars or clubs to meet new people or have fun. I don't know why. But, since I stopped drinking years ago, going to public places are intimidating. Well, online dating is handy. So I tried. Chatting <- I dislike it. Blogging <- once in a while. Forums <- Hmm... It's kind of wasting my time. I gotta trust my eyes once again. Go for the girls that are attractive to me, then start from there.
The crazy world of motorcycle insurance. Posted on Jul 11, 2007 at 10:49 PM
How could I get an insurance with the premimum under 10 times lower than I used to pay? I've contacted few places for a week. The highest one was $1,800. Some companies do not provide insurace for my bike - 1000cc sportbike. I was really upset even though I knew the reality already. Previous insurance company asked me cash only on the spot for new policy. I got mad and did not renew. It happend to me today. A company gave me a policy with incredible price, which was under $100 for 7 months.
When things happen simultaneously.. Posted on Jul 11, 2007 at 10:37 PM
I'm get confused even though I try to make things in order, and understand the causes. Within a month, I met a girl that I could've fallen love with so close. I had a new job and moved to a big city - Edmonton. Had a short vacation with so much fun and excitement: motorcycle racing, skydiving, meeting old friends. All the good memories will remain. But, I'm still single, looking for someone that I can talk, tease, and kiss. Before the summer ends...
Why so many people are stuck in the past? Posted on May 25, 2007 at 10:06 PM
Only few get away from the shadow of the past and move forwards. Why is that? It makes me piss off from time to time. They are complaining the reality all the time, so negative about living.
Good night, sweet dream. Posted on May 23, 2007 at 01:25 AM
Few years ago I used to listen a radio talk program hosted by a middle-age guy. The host read letters from the people, about their good and bad, joyful memories. At the end of program, the host always said "Good night, sweet dream." And it became my favorite ending message to friends. "Good night, sweet dream" What makes the word "dream" so special? Expectation, hope, wish, plan, etc, there are many words about positive future. An adult say "I have a dream" it seems to be a childish. A teenage say "I have a dream" it looks beautiful. Everybody should have own dream. As getting old, people gives up their dreams in various reasons. Why??
Yeah. I was lonely. Posted on May 20, 2007 at 07:33 AM
This internet crap... Time to back to normal - busy as usual. Even though I'll be a single. Hopefully the crappy weahter turns out bettter so that I'll go for ride afternoon . One recommendatation for riders. Read "The Twist of Wrist" by Keith Code. It will show you another world of riding . The milage do not make you a good rider.
The ways of Buddhist. Posted on May 19, 2007 at 08:04 AM
A true buddhist (TB) believe in oneself, nothing else. A TB finds the way of life inside oneself. Be oneself, free one's mind, and live like a wind. A TB simply do not have rules to follow except only one rule "If I give shit to somebody or a creature, I'll take shit back either good or bad at any time." causality!! Once you free the mind, you become a innocent child who can learn, open for anything. Like a true biker who really enjoy the riding itself and the surrounding environment, not many wanna-be bikers who poses "I have this beautiful bike, $$$ worth of one, etc." There are 4 ways of being stoned. It's very funny expressin though. I mentioned 1, 2, 3 already. The 4th one is called "meditation." What happens in deep meditation? It leads to see oneself. The side effect is 100% positive compared to others. It's very safe and relaxation process of body and mind. "Anal breathing" I gotta laugh. Yeap. There is a branch of oriental religional institue that uses above method to meditate. Possibly from India? One great benefit of becoming a buddhist is you will be a free human being rather than follow the rules and read, interpret the old religional context which is wasting time. I know there are many blinded buddhists who worship the Budda, and pray for their luck or fortune. Once a man begin to worship an individual or object, he becomes a slave voluntarily.
Mugshot, prisoner? Posted on May 17, 2007 at 10:05 PM
