I have found what I think of myself is often a great factor in what others think of me.

As is what I choose to share concerning my opinion of them.

Its shocking how often my opinion and thiers coincide. LOL

I would venture to say...the level of caring with regard to other peoples opinion is directly related to where one gets thier validation.

Do you get validation from your significant other? Do you get validation from your work? Your kids?

I tend to get validation from doing my dead level best.
