Re:U fortunately it happens everyday Nancy...we just have to learn how to deal with it....I still struggle with NOT taking it to heart. I have to step back and look at their life and figure out why they think they have to criticize me. HDCouple4U2NV write: Re:Yeah I know and they always think it's someone else. I do think we have lost our sense of humour in tackling things. Saw a doc on the blitz and talked to some of the elderly survivors. They just accepted it, got on with it and had a wicked sense of humour. Right in the middle of it.

I have met many cultures and some from poorer countries with less opportunities have a more accepting relaxed attitude to life's problems. "These things happens" is a South African approah to life. and true nothing going on which hasn't gone on before or is going on in someone elses life. Don't agree with the laize faire attitude but am not as much in conflict. I am more into creating a environment and social network that can help support through crisis and not be so negative or in conflict or push away the person. That the common society is greater than thev problems of its individual members. Whe Jesus was on the Cross they all fckd off. Had him down as a loser. Only a few remained. Couldn't do anything just be with him as he went through it. I don't avoid or look down on negative people. Nothing new under the sun just worse if you go through it alone. Junie

When everything is seemingly turning against me, then I know I am swimming upstream! I know that I'm trying to force things to go my way. Are things really negative or am I just perceiving them to be that way? I catch myself sometimes and have to remind myself of all the positive things that I am ignoring. The best thing to do, and it's hard when you are in the midst of battling with life's flow, is to take a break. Take a day and be alone. Be quiet and listen to your inner voice. Our egos get in our way and make us think we can swim against the current. Don't watch t.v. or listen to the radio or read the paper. It's a mental health day and time to get back in touch with your inner guide. Tell that old ego to take a hike. A motorcycle ride with a friend before sunset helps too ( its been awhile but I still remember!) I have gotten good at this because I was swimming against the current for a long long time. It took some major shit happening to make me realize the folly of my ways.

Sometimes it can be very hard and frustrating, Sunset, especially if you are surrounded by negative people. I always start each day by thinking of ten things I am grateful for. Being a Pollyanna myself,I can usually use the reasoning that things can only get so bad, before they have to start getting better! For negative people, I just smile, smile, and smile, and try to share my joy. Sometimes it rubs off, sometimes it doesn't, then I have to remind myself that unhappy negative people are not allowed to piss on my happy little camp fire unless I let them.
