I am fast approching another birthday.¿ On Feb. 23, I will be turning 46.¿¿ I feel like I am on the down hill tract to 50.¿¿ I know I don't feel 46 or do most friend say I look it.¿¿
Here's my question:¿¿ Am I the only one that feels this way after there 45th is fastly fading away.¿ The 50 just a few feet away.¿ I don't feel it.¿ In my head, not body , think I am still a vibrant 25 year old.¿ Do any of you feel this way.¿ I know the old addage.¿ Women are like fine wine, they get better with age.¿¿ Please let me know!
Thanks

Maneater-
You left out one thing in your concept of our wonderful life at this age.
I absolutely love being in my 40's, late 40's at that. And yes, the kid's gone. Missed him tons at first n didn't know how I'd make it through.
I so looked forward to all the things you described. Sleepin in late, or turnin in early. Runnin around nude, eating cookies in bed.
My life had an awesome direction going on, but then in a blink of an eye it all turned. My Dad was diog. with bone cancer, with only a year to live. I was asked to come stay with them. Of course the answer is yes. What else could it be? This time last year I would have never imagined this is where I'd be today. My life on hold and care taking both of my elderly and ailing parents. Me being the one ray of sunshine they see every day. I do some of the goofiest things to make them laugh, but even as much as I wish for the life I dream of and know is waiting for me, I know I'll never regret a moment of the time I'm here.
Just wanted to make a point of even after we do the kid thing, the unexpected can always happen. It isn't always only about "us".

lil ride....I completely understand what you are going through with taking care of your parents and putting your life on "temporary" hold. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Go to the bookstore and buy the children's book....I will love you forever.....have the kleenex's ready! It may help you

Redlilly....you are only half way to 92!!!! lol

I have always used this expression because it serves me as a reminder....

Remember when you were 13...and you could'nt wait to date and get your OWN license.

And then at sixteen you were either in countdown mode to get out of high school...buy your own cigarettes...or quit having your parents tell you who you could or could not run around with.

And at 18 you could not wait to turn 21 to buy beer....

Well...guess what...we don't have to wait for jack shit anymore!! Our biggest dilema at this age is the infamous "change of life"...retirement....most of us do not have the patter of little feet running through the house at 6 am Saturday morning wanting to watch cartoons.....we don't have the 20 loads of laundry to do, the soccer van is no more....no more deadlines....all you have to focus on is you...for as long as you chose.. This should be the time of your life...after all....at some point in your life...did'nt you once wish...that your kids were grown...and if you wanted to run around the house naked you could..if you ate popcorn for dinner that it was ok...and if you went to bed at 7pm with a good book...that was ok.

I will be 49 in a few months...when I turned 40 I thought it was the end of the world....little did I know!! I love my "golden years" and those that are walking through life with me...I have done more things in the past 9 years that I was not liberal enough to do in the first 40, whether it was because I was not allowed to...advised not to....financially could not have....

Now....I am looking forward to my first trip to Disney World!! (I have always wanted to grab Mickey's ass!!) lol

Like they say,"Sit down, Shut up and hang on for your life...the rides gonna be a little fast" or something like that!!!

yes..i do feel i am getting better with age...its just most not all, of the ones that i have met up with,to ride with only, made that know right away. want ..well....want more..and think they should get it.
older..we are settled. we just want a man who loves us... will be there for us. and when they do those small things...like buy us the little things we dont need. flowers when we dont expect it....back rubs...hell..it would be nice to come home and they cleaned up for you, without asking...lol..wouldnt it...lol
and we all will have some drama( ex's..family...etc)
someone to need me as much as i need them...

..ok ladies...add to this...tell them what...

way, way back, in the last century when I was "pre-legal"..the term we lived by was, "don't trust anyone over 30"..
well 30 came, and I thought..maybe 40?
well 40 came...and I thought...well maybe 50??
well 50 has came and gone, and now...it's hard to trust anyone UNDER 30!!!LOL
my bodies old,
my brain is young,
I'm happy with that,

Women "of age" are remarkable to me.¿ They've lived (as we older dudes have), have gained wisdom and experience, and certainly exhibit a level of maturity.¿ The younger gals (and this is a generalization which I don't usually make) seem so shallow.
So......gimme a woman "of age" anytime.¿ Generally speaking (again), I don't think it's the rule that older men prefer young women.¿ Keep on keepin on.

Reds,
I too have recently started feeling this way. I just turned 47. ¿But you know what, I'm turning it over to God. I've decided to take better care of myself and start loving the fact that I've never been married and enjoy my single womanhood for once.
I just joined today and am looking forward to riding with many of my new friends.
You are beautiful...keep telling yourself that and before you know it, the feeings will dissapate...
Ride Safe

Nonsense.

I have only been out with one man over 40 and that was when I was 32. Always had younger men in my life. Not my prejudice just always happens. Chatted up by 28 year old and 35 year old recently. I just thought it was a chat. Then they actually started getting jealous and scrapping over me thinking I was fancying one over the other.

I think as I have never married and never had kids (just looked after others) I don't have a mother's wife's attitude and way of communicating.

Its how you make the guy feel that draws him too you.

I am usually cheeky, upbeat but can slap them down if they turn stupid. I will not accept any bad manners no mater how old I am. That is usually what draws them.

Am I gorgeous? No. I am short, round and cuddly with belly and tits slapping my knees. OK not that bad but no Demi Moore.

I have seen soem fantastic guys with women who would not fill the usual idea of beauty. Older, larger, unfit, attitudes like a walrus or croccodile on PMT, even disabled. And they are committed and devoted to them for life. Would not think of anyone else.

Life - Just get on with it.
