so it's fathers day, and I never really had a good thing with my dad..
in and out of my life.
but I do remember one cool thing!
I lived not far off lake huron in michigan..an air force base was in operation then..
and we lived out near the dam.
little dirt roads in this really small neighborhood,
and next to our house was a empty lot, big enough for ball games.
well dad and someone else..I was pretty young, can't quite remember...
might have been dads brother..he was a biker.
well

well the road grader route had plowed the dirt away, and there was a small ledge there..a foot, foot and half tall..
don't know if these two had a few or not..but they began running the hog down the lot and jumping the edge.
I couldn't tell you if it was a swingarm or a rigid,
a panhead or a knuckle..
but it was dads turn and off he went.
he hauled some azz down the field, flew off the lip
crossed over the road and hit a telephone pole laying on the side of the road..
he went one way..his glasses another..and the bike another..
what I really remember when running up to him, and seeing him laying in the bushes...
was the ol' harley laying on it's side...still chugging away..( big smiley face here )
that was about 1961.
damn...I wish I had whatever they were playing on...or at least parts!!!LOL
less...
