No Harleys do not suck -- neither does the pride of those who own them! Everyone on this site has their favorite rides, and different views... that's what makes it cool... but - we also all share a love for riding, and a respect for others. That Mr. Monkey is part of what makes a true biker - your lack of respect for the people on this site only proves that you are far from ever being one.

yeah, to each their own, just remember whenever you get ready to trade that jap bike off, you might as well give it to them cause it wont be worth a dime. try that with a Harley and you could possibly get MORE for it than you paid for it, like I said, to each their own, I'll stick with my RoadKing Classic

You mean there are other motorcycle manufactures besides Harley Davidson?

Hi all, lol, this is a funny one, the comments and all. Well, here it goes. For a woman who rides an Indian but has had sat my ass on a harley or two and a few others, not too picky, just as long as it takes me down the road and my problems go into the wind till I am ready to face them with a bit more of a clear mind, everything looks better after a ride, My Jess loves the road as much as I do, and yes my second bike will be a road king, just for looks, lol.

WTF? Can't afford one? Why not just be happy people are out there riding no matter what they ride. Get a clue buddy, we need more bikers, and Harley opened the way. So how about a big thank you to them.

I have to say that I own a fatboy and several jap bikes. The jap bikes are definitely better enginered bikes in every way but the overall quality you just can't compare to a Harley. It all depends what type of riding you prefer on that type of day. If you want to rip well over the 3 digits than buy a jap bike. If you want to cruise with metal and chrome sparkling than buy a harley. You are still a rider. No one should out any one bike down. They all have their flaws. We are all on the same team..!!!!!!!!!!!

I ride a 1961 Pan with more miles on the odometer backing into bars than most have rolling down the road. Show me a Foreign (to the US) cruiser of similar vintage still touring the highway (not a trailer Queen - a nod to Her Majesty) and I will gladly doff my cap. As someone who road raced Honda F2's I can tell you the single greatest advantage to my HD is the ready availability of parts. What makes my Harley fun is the ability to build/repair it when required as opposed to "flushing" it once every three or four years in the name of progress because of the built-in obsolescence factor. As a result, Harley's are often several years off the technology curve which is a price I willingly pay in the interest of 1) being the ultimate recycler (a play on words) and 2) receiving maximum enjoyment from my hard earned dollars and sweat. I appluad anyone who straddles two wheels (especially BMW riders) and find the whole Blah-Blah vs. Yadda-Yadda discussion incredibly lame, bordering on the completely inane. Which, since I've allocated a portion of my day to respond, begs the question "am I lame or merely inane?"

kinkymunkey, I travel alot on my elctraglide when I travel down theroad I see alot of the jap bikes. but here in california where we can ride all most all year long I do 75mph on the freeway and cops so take a seconfd look but when a jap bike goes by me he is usually pulled over so the speed is also what has killed alot of our sisters and brothers on the road. keep your fing comments to england where you roads suck and you ride on the wrong side of the road. bdwolf77

Interesting, I'm not into name calling or any of that, I think some people ride, and some people just feel they need to belong to something. I do think kinkymunky, that your approach to this really sucked. You may be jealous? But also a lot of the comments ... damn... Not much better. Harley's are great bikes..... great marketing as well. I will say I am in the motorcycle intustry. It was actually a Harley distributor that put me onto the Yamaha Roadstar. I have been riding that bike for about 7 years, I had a Road King before that, and have had Honda's and Triumph's.... I just love to ride. It is sad, all this Jap bike hating... maybe this is part of what sent Kinkymonky off. Hey guys.... I have been to factories in Tiawan inspecting parts... Harley parts. Most of my Jap bike is made in the US, I drive a Pontiac... But do I say anything about the guy that takes his Harley out every other weekend... and drives a BMW? This made in the US thing doesn't fly.... If we only pick and choose what we want. Let's all just ride.

hi bonehead,i think you must be talking about my bike !it's only 42 years old (i'm 40 ),it leaks oil worse than a pipeline ,don't shift that great but it does start on the first kick, gets 40 mpg, runs great ,crappy paint?,well i painted it (ex car painter ,made a living off of people who can't drive for 12 years)and it looks great ,i do my own wrenching ,i'm poor and own 2 ford trucks as well ,no stranger to a wrench .i enjoy working on my old ironhead and would not trade it for anything .i can pull up to your rice eater in any parking lot and the crowd will be looking at my bike not yours .i take pride in my old bike, in my country and our products ....so piss off ........and may all the men and women serving this country come home safely .....

Oh Dear kinkymonkey I think you've been hit by freindly fire, & your donkey or ass must be a bit sore by now,I think you have rubbished a national treasure. Being a Triumph man I suppose I understand the patriotism. By the way "lovely pecs Jaded Lady"

Well, now that you asked, Harleys may not be the Cadillac of motorcycles, but we Americans by them for two reasons; 1st we take pride in American made products and 2nd, we can afford them! As for all those Jap bikes that flooded the American market back in the 60's and 70's, far more than Harley produced, well lets put it this way, I see a lot 50s, 60's and 70's on the road and the only 60's and 70's Jap bikes I've seen are sitting rusting away in peoples backyards.
