Harley's DO suck..they are wheezy old paint shakers and you will spend more time fixin' then ridin'...ever wonder why you see SO many being trailered on the highway, lol... the technology is OLD school, let's face it..Its like CARS..which is more reliable? American or Japanese??? You cultish Harley riders make me want to puke...you are the typical victims of advertising, flag waving, etc...think for yourself and stop following the herd.

rawhyde did you ever hear of Johnny Allan, Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood? Harley outlets over here have dropped a couple thou' off their prices since the R3 hit the shops it scared them shitless. Please don't take this as an anti USA blog. I really can't take more of the warm beer shite.

I just had to respond as did over a thousand other folks. I just don't get it. Why fight over what we ride we're all in the wind on what we chose to ride doing what we love to do in the fashion we love to do it with who we want to be with. So we're all happy. I raced dirt bike from age 7 until I was 14 and realized the boys didn't like the girls that beat them, now at age 44 men don't like woman that have bigger bikes than them, so I guese my life has went full circle. As for handling I have a Ultra Classic and I can lean that thing into a turn just like a crotch rocket so it's really not the bike it's the ability of the rider to ride it. Enjoy what ever you ride and go far! Mine has over 200,000 miles on it.

Well then, this blog certainly hits a nerve with some of the patriotic American folk here so I think i'll throw in my two cents worth and lets face it, as far as opinions go, they aren't worth more than two cents anyway. Mine included. Example, those quick to jump on the anti-kinkymunky bandwagon using harsh words aren't giving us a valid opinion of kinkymunky himself. They are just giving us an insite into themselves so that the rest of us may form our own opinion about them. That is no different to what kinkymunky himself has done with his apparent view on Harley Davidson motorcycles. From the small amount of blogs belonging to kinkymunky (who obviously has a sense of humour) that I have read, I wouldn't be suprised if he has a Harley in the shed and rides it every Sunday. As far as my view on Harley Davidsons goes, of the over 30 bikes I have owned a Harley hasn't been one of them simply because they don't make a style of bike that suits my riding interests at this point. I wont be in any hurry to email them and request that they start making dirt bikes, adventure tourers or sports bikes capable of fast lap times at Phillip Island because that is not what they are about. Still, I would like to own a nice Harley cruiser but I have my priorities when it comes to riding styles. Nothing personal it's just the way it is. Maybe I will end up with a Harley later down the track. Maybe I will end up with a Suzuki trail bike to putt around my back paddock on (if I ever get the chance to own a back paddock). Who knows? I'm not against any brand of bike or the maintainance that goes with it. Why else would I spend hours working on high maintainance Husqvarna automatic dirt bikes? So I can get a few good hours out of it on the odd Sunday and have a quality laugh with my mates. Yeah, I got off the track there but hey, what this kind of blog shows is the passion that each rider possesses. It's really good to see. And that's why we love it.

Kinkymunkey, the best response I could think to give your post was to simply point out that it is better to be thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt

Hay Kinky, Wow, what a powerful headline for your blog. I am sure you were expecting a whole more crap than you already got. I ride a Yamaha. Yes it is concidered a "jap bike" to the Harley riders. BUT I also have owned a 49 HD Pan Head! You probably don't know what that is or what the history is behind it. Even thou I now ride a Yamaha I still like HD's and everything about them. You obviously are not a "real" biker because you would have never "dished" other brand owner riders. Hope you have fun this weekend riding your bike!! Cause you are NOT a REAL biker and probably drive your Volkswagon to work every day. Loves & Kisses Miss Sassiee!!!!! A HD rider and a Yamaha rider.

i owned a vrod 04. lost more money on that bike in one year than anything I've ever owned.i traded it last November for 11500.00 even, for a zx14 ninja. i know in 2 years it will still be worth close to what i bought it for the zx. love the performance from the jap bike, for me it seems to be a little better on my back. the only reason i bought a Harley in the first place was the performance of the vrod. after one year and 6000.00 less i got the zx 14. i do like cruisers but i also like the sport bike. to each his own. if you like the bike than ride it for what you bought it for, if you don't like it than get another one. again to each his own.

Kinky Munky, you sound like a person who has only ridden plastic and can't afford a Harley. Not very appealing to this lady harley rider! I hope for your sake that you someday get a chance to ride a real bike made of steel and chrome. Perhaps then you will have some luck with the ladies. Chrome may not get you home but it will get you layed! lol

Point in case to the previous poster who was in Taiwan inspecting Harley parts, Harley has come a long way from what they once were. Sure a lot of the engine designs have stayed fairly the same, tried and true, but the main reason they have gotten beter is the manufacturing processes and the ability to make better quality parts through the advancement of manufacturing technologies. And who do the Americans have to thank.... the makers of "Jap-Scrap"...of course!!

Thirty years on two wheels, I've owned and rode a variety of bikes, Japanes, British and American. Current ride's a '99 Harley Sportster 1200 conversion. All those years I've never trashed the bike another chose to ride... It's disrespectful and in poor taste. Kind of like what I'm about to tell you Monkey. Go fuck yourself, cause for sure you won't find a lady here to do it for you with that kind of attitude.
