Congrats Kimi on EVERYTHING lol!! Your gonna do great!!!!!I just became a grandmother in Feb and I have a '76 sportster(ironhead)that has been in our family since it was new and I totally agree with the no payments part mentioned by the poster before me, older bikes are sooo neat ,, everyone will ask you about it, which will be another way you'll meet folks. Just keep going and don't look back ,,your going to make it fine....

when you get your bike running, check into some of the local rides. maybe that would help. be worth a shot anyway.

I have to admit to a similar situation. Was on my own for just a little over 2 years, then eventually found a (what I thought was)decent guy. We split a few months ago and hey presto back to being alone with my 10 year old daughter, working my off and pestering my dad and brothers to be riding buddies. I can't find biker girlfriends around here and most of my old mates moved away from the area anyway. Maybe we should all meet up and ride out together one day!!?

kimi, congrats on getting your harley. my friend has a 72 sportster. i rode it through his yard once and almost lost it on some wet grass, while he and his brother were watching; very embarrising. that hog sure ways a lot more than my old triumph. be careful. also i hope you are gonna run a front brake. most of your stopping comes from the front brake. one of the best parts about having an old fixer-upper is no payment.

Love to ride but usually end up riding alone it would be cool to ride with other women but their doesnt seem to be many in my area. I have a few girlfriends who own bikes but dont get them out much. I have a great mechanic who keeps my bikes in great shape. I just put gas in and go!! Oh once in awhile i change the oil and clean them up. Go to your nearest HD Shop usually they post some runs. Have fun and ride safe!

Hi Kimichi, I can relate. Since my breakup with my former live in boyfriend of 6 years, I don't really have any gals to hang with. I do have co-workers girlfriends, but that's at work and all are married or live quite a distance away. I hope to meet gals to hang with not only a guy. I mean I like to find a good man to have in my life, but ya got to have your own separate friends. Men (women too) can come and go, but good friends don't. I'm glad to see more and more MC girl clubs. It's about time the gals get together and ride and do their own thing like the men have for so long. I luv bikes a lot, but I don't know to ride one yet. I do plan to learn in the near future and hope to ride with some gals later. Congrats on becoming a grandma, it's great, I know cause I'm one too. Take care.

Hey Kimichic, I don't think you will have much trouble making new friends. I have seen some of your comments on other blogs. You sound like a really friendly person. Sounds like your life is coming together. Be yourself and friends will come. You are a good looking woman and the closeness and warmth will be yours. When you get that bike, ride and be safe. Michael

hey there kimichic, life is rough after being in a marriage that long, but it gets easier with time. Time is the medicine! You can find friends anywhere---put a smile on your face and be friendly, strike up a conversation with someone and go from there. It's never been hard for me because that's just who I am! I'll be your friend anytime. Feel free to email me at julie332000@bikerkiss and I will respond to ya & give you my personal email address and we can go from there. I can't say that I have a ton of friends, but I do have a ton of acquaintances that are cool to hang out with from time to time :) Good Luck... Julie

Hi there, I sure have! Congrat's on getting your bike soon and soon to be a grandma! I hear you on the finding & making new girlfriends. All my friends are married/hooked up it seems and their lives are "different" than me. My married/hooked up friends, watch me.. Like they are worried I'm after their men. I am so not, I wouldn't do that to an un-friend, I sure won't overstep them boundaries of my friends. I never have in the past, why would I now? Oh well it's their insecurities, not mine. I have friends, but no close girlfriends, which sux to be honest, no one to talk to. Wishing you well, Vickie - who's single in Ohio.. looking for "friends" of both sexy.
