It's been almost 2 years out on my own after a bad/sad ending to a 18-yr marriage.. a couple weeks & I'll finally have my own bike... been working my a** off.. kids are almost grown.. gonna be a Grandma soon.. everything is going along well... but one thing I have found living this single life is it's hard to find & make new girlfriends.. have any of you women noticed this?.. or is it just me? *sob* I moved away from where I had lived my married-life before.. so still getting to know people... so, where does a girl pick up a grrrlfriend at? Hopefully not down at the local bar....... lol
*EDIT*.. The bike is a 73 Sportster & it needs HELP, but it's getting it.. paid $1500 for it.. needs new brakes & other stuff... but hey, it's RED.. lol.. I am just about SICK with ANTICIPATION I want to ride so bad... I haven't rode alone for years, only on the back.... but I was raised by a couple of guys (dad & brother) & growing up, we always had bikes... does this answer the question about the bike?? :)

Damn, wish I was closer. We could have a few laughs Im sure. Don't get discouraged. Most women (not in the biker crowd) are a little tough to get to know. Men make better friends. Just keep your head up, be beautiful and strong. Good things will come. Maybe we can chat sometime. KIMBER

Happy hunting for girlfriends. Abate or a laid back MC/Riders assoc is the best way to meet friends. Keep up the work on that Sporty and you will be riding in no time. Go to bike nights in you local area too.

Hey -- I'm in Florida now after years in Detroit -- have ridden for 30-plus years and about 250,000 miles, nearly always alone.
I gotta say, if my brother and his kids hit my kill switch and thought it was funny, that would be my last ride with them. Those aren't men: they're babies, and the disrepect they show you is proof of it. Sorry to speak harshly of family, but even people who say they love us occasionally behave like idiots. I can relate. I miss my bestfriend who lives in a different state. I have found some really cool friends within ABATE and The Chrome Diva's. Good luck.

Hey Kimi, I know after I got divorced a few years ago that OUR women friends didn't seem to want to hang with me anymore. Maybe they were afraid I'd eye their man. Not a chance. I don't pilfer. I know here in Mass. we have a local Women's club, Women on Wheels, they are National. There's also a Women's Sportster Club. And yes, it is very hard to find a good woman friend.

A good way to meet people in your area is to join your local ABATE and attend the meetings... you are sure to find riding friends male and female and they are almost always the BEST peeps around!!

I've been swining for a time now and don't mind being solo, I get in with a few but the women I know all ride behind their men, sad in a way but if that's what makes them happy, so be it. Here in Mich we have a few chic rides find your local website for bikers to find the events. Or you can go to any bike shop to find flyers. When I came into this bike world I did not know anyone now I have tons of friends both male and females. In fact I just rode about 50 miles with a couple of gals last night after work it was a great time. Just find one then you will end up with many great friends.

it's a nation wide bike club. I have the same problem, I try to e-mail some of the riders that are close to my area to see if they would like to ride to bike night of just ride on a Sunday, but so far no one has answered me. How do that guy do it??? I ride with my brother and his sons but they ride a little harder than I do and they pick on me the whole time that were out. I get my kill switch thrown at every red light, if I don't watch them. Well how about it girl's any near Norton, Medina , Akron, Green, OHIO that has the same problem.
