its a good question, but i guess its just a want. those that make ones mind work and to feel the other side of our true selves, but not admit it. ive been told this for most of my life...your a bad boy. must be the blue eyes and the cheeky smile...but im ok with it..fun really

I wish I knew. I've suffered from "nice guy syndrome" my whole life. I've always subconciously searched for the "damsel in distress" only to find that she's in distress because she likes it. Although I know the problem, I can't seem to shake it. I can be attracted to a woman from across the room and know nothing about her... sure enough, she's either a lunatic or "in distress". I would assume the "bad boy" thing would be similar.

Sometimes, it's because the bad baoys like the good girls. The badder the boy, the better they are at reading people, and it is a bit manipulative, but they know what to say or are willing to give the girl what she wants in order to get what he wants.
Most of my male friends have admitted to me that they want to feel as they are the ones who first corrupted a good girl. And my male friends run the gamut from long-hairs to metrosexuals.
