Your parents tanning your hide when you were out of line and sending you to bed early. And we didn't suffer or moan. If we had done it we thought we deserved it. Get better at not getting caught the next time. In fact we used to show off the bruises from our whippings. Some still used a belt and buckle on theirs, Not my parents. But some rough kids from rough families still grew up good. Watching a programme on a Supernanny who goes in helping parents with problem kids. I tell you I would not dare act like that these kids. I had respect and "fear" of my parents and authority. One look and it was absolute obedience without any further words being said. Junie

Re: Hossy, I was just funnin' with ya. I love you just the way you, and all your personalities are!! PS:I understand how you feel about Nursing Homes. I have been around the elderly since I was a little girl. My Grandma owned a rest home,I also took care of her when she was diagnosed with OBS in her 60's (early diagnosis) I worked Geriatrics/LTC for years before and after becoming a Nurse. Bless you for caring for the 85 y/o. hossv8 write: Sym, I help take care of an 85 yr old in a nursing home....pretty sad and weird place...I'm 48, a while before the digits turn around to 84, but the future in nursing homes looks bleak... I have a multitude of personalities, some are disorders...that was just one of the 48 I have. Every year I make a new one. This originates from the many years I spent alone as a child. I had to invent playmates...like me, myself and Irene, Iliach, Ian, Ichabod, Isaac, Ingrid, Imogin....etc etc etc ...LOL! This is one of the reasons I avoid fights....When my anger gets unleashed, I dont know who might come out...or who I've stored in there...thats why I stay mellow...and think of safe and calm thoughts like sex, food and riding my bike...

way back when you didnt have to lock your house, and you didnt worry about your kids until it started getting dark. adults still had values back then and used them raising us.

You forgot about the horny old ladies chasing you around the halls in their wheelchairs. Not many men at that age..so the world will be your buffet of delectable spinisters.

Happy thoughts of an Irish childhood where most of yur toys were home made of wood. My doll pram, my stilts, my scooter. The simple games we played indoors and outdoors and no TV. The pure of heart that was within us. Yes, bring back those days. Thanks Demo. The more you post the more I love you. You're mint.
