Exactly one month and counting!

To bore everyone with my life!! lol! My son will be home in one month to visit for a few weeks before he goes overseas for 2 years. For those of you who know me, YES I am marking the days down on the caledar and am planning a HUGE welcome home party as well as a going away party.
It is so hard to have him home and get used to it just to have him leave again. But, he loves his "job" as he calls it.
This town will not recover for a while!!

Freedom Ride

Last Sunday my daughter in law and I participated in the 2nd Annual Freedom Ride here in NJ. It is to benefit the families of those who lost their lives defending our freedom. Over 1,500 people attended and $25,000 was raised. If you have one of these events in your area, PLEASE make this event. It helps the families of those who have died protecting us.
If any of you know someone in the military or law enforcement, just imagine, it could be you!
Thank you and have a safe Memorial Day Weekend. Please don't forget those who give us eht freedom to write on the site!

College visitation

My daughter will be graduating in June. Where does the time go! We went to look at the school which is top in our area. It was nice to watch her take everything in and talk to the instructors. BTW, she wants to study to be a make up artist and work in NYC doing photo shoots and fashion shows. Anyway, her eyes lit up when Ana Marie Rizzieri grabbed her hand and took her aside to talk to her for about 20 minutes. Ana Marie is a make up artist from NYC. She invited my daughter to her class in July.
Anyway, I woke up at 4:00 a.m. realizing my baby girl is graduating high school and will be 18. Now I understand what some of the other people on here meant! For some reason, this is worse than my son going to the Army!! I guess because I realize I am down to one child and then there is ME!!! Peace and quiet!
Or was it the cost of the school??!

Passport Regulations!!!!

Has anyone applied for a passport in the past month or two? I decided to take my youngest son and my daugher to the caribbean for their Easter vacation. I book the hotel and flights. Me and my daughter went to the County Store at the mall one night before work to get our passports. No problem. I take my son a few days later. We fill out the papers, blah blah blah. One little problem. He is under 16 and needs his father's signature. His father lives in Maine. I fill out the "special circumstances" portion explaining that my ex husband lives in Maine, does not have contact with the child and did not provide his residential info. I also sent a copy of the order for custody. I am primary residential (cusodial) parent. I got a letter today telling me to provide a notarized statement from my ex husband giving permission for my son. WTF!! What part of I HAVE NO CONTACT WITH THIS JERK did they not understand? Can the government explain to me why the US Citizen who follow procedures a... More ...Has anyone applied for a passport in the past month or two?
